The two businessmen who will pay for the building of a new jetty in Hillsborough have been revealed.
Leo Joseph and Mr. Kent (Trevor) will spearhead the effort to bring back commercial activity to the Hillsborough Port, according to Hon. Tevin Andrews, Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, who spoke during the 2023 budget debate in the House of Parliament.
Minister Andrews said that the absence of commercial boats landing and disembarking at the site is choking Hillsborough’s business community.
The town of Hillsborough has been severely harmed by the decision to relocate the port to Harvey-Vale, according to Andrews, and something needs to be done to save the community and its economy.
The primary port of the island was transferred from Hillsborough to Tyrell Bay.
