Several residents in the Calliaqua community are complaining about the effects of dust from a cement storage operation in the area.
Residents told News784 that the dust from the loading and offloading coupled with the current plume of Saharan dust affecting the island is adding to the issue.
Some parents have complained that their children are having difficulty with breathing since the school is within walking distance of the operation.
Added to that, the residents say it causes traffic backlog in the area.
The residents also told News784 that they intend to ask the planning department by writing, how permission was granted for such a business to operate near a school.
And, to and ask both the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education to look into the developing issue.
