Cayman Airways direct flights to Panama
Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) has said that it will add Panama, in Central America, to its growing list of international destinations this summer. Nonstop flights between Grand Cayman and Tocumen International Airport (PTY) will start again on June 26, 2023.
With its new fleet of 160-seat B737-8 jets, CAL will offer nonstop flights to Panama all year long, on Mondays and Thursdays during peak travel times, so that people can travel over the weekend or stay longer.
The plane will leave Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) in the late morning. It will take one hour and 50 minutes to fly to Panama, where it will land in the early afternoon. The flight back to Grand Cayman will leave Panama an hour and 30 minutes later, and it will get there before 5 p.m.
The Cayman Islands Minister of Tourism and Transport, Kenneth Bryan, said, “This is the second major launch between Grand Cayman and a major gateway in just six months.”
Fabian Whorms, President and CEO of Cayman Airways, said that the company is thrilled to be going back to Panama, which is a busy, modern city.
“This route will give our customers in Cayman and Latin America the best mix of options for both leisure and business travel. With our new fleet of B737-8 jets, it only takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes to fly between Grand Cayman and dozens of cities in Central and South America. The flight schedule is set up so that people can easily travel in both directions on the same day. The schedule also links up with some of our existing international routes, such as Havana, Kingston, and Miami,” he said.
The airline said that tickets should be available in the next few days at www.caymanairways.com, by calling the Cayman Airways Reservations call center at +1 345-949-2311, or by getting in touch with licensed travel agents.
