CCM keeps leadership of Nevis with smaller majority
Following yesterday’s election, the citizens of Nevis have chosen the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) to represent the small island in the House of Assembly.
Three of the five seats in the House of Assembly were won by the CCM.
When the party competed against the Nevis Reformation Party in 2017, it won one less (NRP).
Over 7,500 voters cast ballots for CCM, NRP, and Moral Restoration Movement candidates, according to information provided by Oaklyn Peets, Supervisor of Elections in St. Kitts and Nevis (MRM).
Brantley commended the islanders for their support and belief in his ability to manage the island after hearing the news of the CCM’s victory.
“Please give me a moment to say how humbled I am to be elected to lead our wonderful island of Nevis once more by the people of Nevis. Let me also express my gratitude to the Nevisians for once again electing the Concerned Citizens Movement to run the island’s affairs for the ensuing five years,” he posted on Facebook.
“I send our CCM team my sincere congratulations. You have gained the love and respect of your people, my brothers Eric and Spencer. I want to thank my sister Latoya and my brother Alexis, who have always been by my side, for their outstanding service and their energetic campaign. Your future in service is yet to be written.
Congratulations to the NRP’s successful applicants, he said, adding that it was time to “sit down and get to work.”
