Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, expressed gratitude to the people and government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the flour gift made to Cuba.
The donation will help Cuba alleviate the terrible circumstances caused by the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the US government more than 60 years ago, according to the president of state.
According to an official announcement, the 235-metric-tonne shipment would arrive at Mariel port in the western province of Artemisa over the next few days.
Carlos Ernesto Rodriguez Etcheverry, Cuban ambassador to Kingstown, stated that the solidarity and humanitarian gesture demonstrate the two countries’ strong brotherly relationship and commitment to continue expanding it.
