Digicel is continuing to improve the digital experience of its customers in St Vincent (SVG) and other Eastern Caribbean islands by introducing the latest feature in telecommunication technology—the Electronic SIM (eSIM).
The eSim service is now live in St Vincent and the Grenadines and Antigua and Barbuda after successful rollouts in markets such as Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Guyana.
Victor Kovacs, CEO of Digicel SVG, said: “We understand that our customers want to have access to the latest technology, which is why we take great pride in enabling them to live their best digital lives no matter what. To date, over 99 per cent of smartphones still work with a physical SIM, even if they also have eSIM capability, but we want to give our customers the best digital experience and make connecting to our network secure, reliable (since you can’t damage or lose an eSIM), and above all easy.”
An eSIM is a digital version of the physical SIM card that customers use to connect to the Digicel network via smartphones. It is embedded into compatible devices for easy setup and out-of-the-box use that ensures seamless connectivity to the Digicel network in seconds.
