(NEWS784.COM) – The government of St Vincent and the Grenadines have announced as part o their crime-fighting initiative concessions on CCTV equipment.
The duty-free concession is now available to business people who want to bring in high-quality Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.
Minister of Finance Camillo Gonsalves said duty-free concessions will be given on cameras that are able to be networked.
He said this is to ensure that the police themselves can see the footage from a central location.
The concession will be on cameras that have low light capabilities and are high definition.
He said that this is part of the country’s crime-fighting initiative. Several Caribbean countries have employed the CCTV initiative.
