(PR) – The Forestry Range Officers along with their colleagues in the Wildlife and Law Compliance and Enforcement Units have been engaged in field assessment of key habitats in our forest that provide a home for St. Vincent Parrot.
These key habitats also provide a home for other endemics and indigenous plant and animal species. Along with monitoring the situation they have erected feeding stations for birds including the parrot.
Areas, where this has been done, include Cumberland, Vermont and Congo Valley.
The general public is encouraged to be a part of this effort by reporting sightings of birds or other animals that appear to be stressed due to the eruptions of the volcano.
