- Health Fair: SVGRC, KBC, SVGMA
The Fernside Red Cross Group hosted a health fair for West Kingstown seniors on February 24, 2024. This was made possible through collaboration with the Kingstown Baptist Church, the SVG Medical Association, and A2 Fitness.
Through their joint efforts, the seniors had a morning of care. This included eye and ear exams, blood sugar and blood pressure checks, pedicures and foot care, balance and mobility exercises, and hair styling.
The elderly were also given healthful foods as they rotated from one station to the next. When they were finished, they were given care packages so that they could continue the care at home.
In its 75th year of operation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the SVG Red Cross expresses gratitude to its volunteers, who continue to demonstrate compassion as one of the core values on which its operations are founded.
They exemplify the chant, “We are our own first aid.”
