In connection with the removal of ammunition from the Georgetown Police Station last year, Zackrie Latham, a former police constable of St. Vincent and the Grenadines police, was found guilty on Tuesday, December 13, of breaking and entering and official corruption.
Latham was accused of trespassing and stealing ammunition from the Armory between January 1 and April 1 of 2021 and between April 30 and May 1 of that same year while working as a police officer at the Georgetown Police Station.
Latham was accused of using his position as a police officer to get property for himself through corruption.
On May 17, 2022, Latham was exonerated of ten of the 13 charges against him.
The accusations included five for possessing firearms, one for possessing ammunition, two for selling firearms, one for selling ammunition, and one for money laundering.
