- One dead, two injured in family brawl at Wismar, Linden
On Saturday, a family feud in Wismar, Linden, turned tragic as two brothers and their sister’s husband got into a brawl.
John Jones, 56, of Block 22 Squatting Area, Wismar, Linden, has died. The others are Jones’ wife’s brothers, a 43-year-old worker and a 53-year-old motorist from Prosville, Wismar.
According to a Guyana Police Force statement, Jones and his wife, Tracy, were arguing at their house at 16:00 hrs.
The mother summoned her brothers to remove her and her three children from the house.
Jones, on the other hand, was waiting for the brothers with two cutlasses in his hands. The three had never had any problems previously, but the man allegedly attacked them on Saturday.
Jones is accused of chopping one of the brothers in the back of the skull and the other in the right side of his face.
Jones and the two men got into a fight, and one of them was able to take his cutlass.
One of the brothers is accused of repeatedly chopping Jones on his torso with the cutlass.
Jones’ wife and their three children fled while the brawl raged.
Following the fight, one of the brothers went to the Wismar Police Station and reported the incident. He was then transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he is now being treated.
Meanwhile, the other brother took a taxi to the Linden Hospital complex and was admitted as a patient. His condition is described as critical.
Jones’ body was discovered in the back of his garden, with many chop wounds on his body.
The body was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex before being transported to the G. Jetsco Funeral Home for a post-mortem assessment on Wednesday.
