The SVG Met Office says a Western Atlantic High Pressure System is building, with increasing wind speeds bringing patches of low-level clouds and occasionally cloudy skies and a few scattered showers across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
Cloud patches and shower activity could increase across SVG overnight Tuesday, with scattered showers on Wednesday and lingering on Thursday. Good visibility is expected across our area, except for a film of haze on Tuesday night.
Moderate-fresh (25–35 km/h) north-east trades across our islands increase to strong (~40 km/h) during the night and maintain strong winds on Wednesday and Thursday. Be Alert.
Marine conditions are moderate in open water, with north-easterly swells of ~1.5m on the western coasts and ~2.5m on the eastern coasts of SVG.
Swells are expected to rise near 2.0m on the western coasts during Monday night and near 2.7m on the eastern coasts during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Swell heights could range from 3.0m to 3.5m on the east coast of St. Vincent by late Thursday. Small-craft operators and residents along the coastal waters of SVG should be prepared, and sea-bathers should exercise extreme caution for strong gusts and above-normal sea swells.
