Leader of the ULP Dr Ralph Gonsalves say he does not have a kingdom. Gonsalves was referring to statements made by Sir James Mitchell recently.
Sir James noted that political kingdoms fall and very soon, so will that of Ralph Gonsalves.
“A fella, Sir James, I have heard him said that, all kingdoms would fall, his kingdom fell and Ralph his own will fall”.
Gonsalves said he does not have a kingdom and stated that he knows of King James from which one version of the bible derives.
“He might have had a kingdom, I don’t have one, am the Prime Minister in a functioning democracy, but I can understand what he is saying because he said he hand picked a man to do this and tell the man how to build and design what they had called the people’s palace”.
“He also told us he knew where to put the cruise ship pier, he did not need a study for that, because he uses to dive there when he was a boy and he knew the area, Kings can do that, I am not one”.
Gonsalves said his role will at some time come to an end, either voluntarily by him, the parliamentarians which is unlikely, by death or also very unlikely by vote.
“If I go back again I will win, as sure as the sun shines tomorrow, that does not mean, as they usually say ralph could only say he is winning again if he is rigging election, you know they will say that”.
Gonsalves says he can state that he will win because he can feel the pulse of the people , and he knows from his prayers where he gets certain answers, but he never take the people for granted, and that may be one of the reasons why he gets re- elected.
“I might answer the call of the people, not to walk away yet, because somethings that I hear some people talking, i may have to stand up in the front line and take them on very sharply”.
Gonsalves ULP has been in power since 2001.
