Justices of the Peace (J.Ps), Mr. Curtis Shallow of Cane Grove and Mrs. Yvette Browne of Gomea have extended a hand of partnership to Her Majesty’s Prisons.
On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, the Justices of the Peace donated a deep freezer to the Superintendent of Prisons, Mr. Timothy Hazelwood to aid with the storage capacity at the institution.
Mr. Shallow stated that he has been contributing to the welfare of the inmates since 2001. He noted “although they are incarcerated, they are first and foremost human beings that has rights and needs.” J.P Shallow gave the assurance that he will continue to assist in whatever way possible.
According to Ms. Browne, it is not the first time that she has come to the assistance of the institution, neither was it going to be the last. She outlined that once called upon, she is always willing to contribute whenever the need arises once she is capable to do so.
In accepting the deep freezer, Superintendent of Her Majesty’s Prisons, Mr. Timothy Hazelwood expressed gratitude to the donors on behalf of the staff and inmates, amidst all that has been transpiring at this juncture.
He further stated that the donation will enhance the storage capability at the prison and will go a long way in helping to meet the needs of the inmates.
