St Vincent is expected to get some 8 inches of rain, this according to Prime Minister Gonsalves in a second update on the impending passage of storm Dorian.
The country is expected to begin feeling the effects of the storm from around 2 am Tuesday morning, according to Prime Minister Gonsalves.
He said from 7 pm on Monday evening the hurricane shelters would be open for persons who are in a vulnerable position. Gonsalves said all utilities are ready for a response after the passage of the storm.
Gonsalves further urge all Vincentians to be prepared for any eventuality. The AIA would be closed at 6 pm on Monday evening.
He stated that capital city Kingstown would reopen on Wednesday 28th August 2019 at 8 am.
There would be no garbage collection on Tuesday, however, a double shift would be done on Wednesday.
