Saint Vincent and the Grenadines National Mediation Committee will be hosting a week of activities from today Monday, October 13th through 18th 2019 to promote court-connected mediation in the State. One of the objectives is to bring awareness of the benefits of mediation to persons in conflict and the wider community.
The highlights of the week activities will be:
Monday, Oct. 14th 8.00 pm – Panel Discussion on SVGTV
Wednesday, Oct. 16th – 7.30 pm – Lecture “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity” Albert Einstein – Frenches House by Mr. Francis Compton, Regional Mediation Co-ordinator
Thursday, Oct. 17th – 10.00 am to 2.00 pm – Mediation and legal aid clinic – old library grounds, Kingstown
Friday, Oct. 18th – 2.00 pm – Mediation Dramatization – House of Assembly
The National Mediation Committee embarked on a public awareness campaign in May 2019. It is being conducted under the auspices of the Judicial Reform and Institutional Strengthening (JURIST) Project which is managed by the Caribbean Court of Justice and funded by the Canadian government. The public awareness campaign is projected to run for an initial period of 12 months.
