As the newest and quickest ferry to operate on the Bequia-Kingstown Route prepares for its maiden journey, excitement is building.
Insider information said that the boat would carry passengers and goods in less than 35 minutes.
“The vessel is ideal for inter-island travel and charters up the island chain on the weekends; it’s just exciting,” said a source.
“The question of when the ship will dock is the talk of Port Elizabeth. How much will cargo cost, what are the anticipated costs to and from the mainland, and—above all—will the cost of transport between Kingstown and Port Elizabeth drop dramatically?, the source further stated.
An insider close to the owners told St. Vincent Times, they will not comment at this time except to say that, “if a vessel with cargo and passengers travels 35 minutes from Bequia to Kingstown, it will be a serious game changer to the status quo.”
Currently on the Bequia – Kingstown route, Bequia Express operates with 4 vessels while the MV Admiral 1.
