” Your Political affiliation is now a requirement if you are seeking medical attention at St Vincent and the Grenadines main health facility, the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital”.
This was disclosed to Opposition supporters in the diaspora by West Kingstown MP Daniel Cummings.
The Opposition MP told supporters in North America at a town hall meeting, “ it is quite shocking but it is true ”.
“ Imagine your loved ones go into the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for one thing or the other, and on their hospital bed a senior nurse comes up, ask for the name and following that which party do you support”.
” With supporters saying I can’t believe this, Cummings said, I like your reaction, because it is unthinkable, but it happens regularly in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, it happens regularly in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the MP repeated”.
Cummings also told party supporters that if you are not in a good frame of mind. you can get sick by just walking into the institution due to its depressive state.
“Listen if you go to St. Vincent and you walk into the hospital, and you don’t get sick you’re lucky”.
No, I’m not kidding Cummings said to the astonished audience.
“I very rarely try to visit, I have to be in an excellent state of mind to visit, It is so depressing”, Cummings said.
” I’m not even talking about the dust and the grime and the unavailability of cleaning stuff, but often times I have to say it is the stench in the hospital, it is really nauseating”.
The Opposition MP said this happens on a regular basis.
There has been no response so far by Health Officials to statements made by the Opposition MP.
