Management at the Kingstown Port Authority has advised that there is currently a boat burning in the Kingstown harbour.
Though the winds are currently blowing away from the surrounding residential areas the authorities warn that the wind can whip back up at any time and blow towards land; therefore residents in Edinboro are asked to close up their houses to avoid the fumes coming inside.
Residents in Kingstown, Cane Garden and surrounding areas are also asked to take necessary precaution as these fumes can be quite toxic.
The port management is monitoring the situation.
