Raheem DaSilva a young man from the community of Lodge Village who was indicted on a charge of robbery upon Phillip Alexander of Frenches on April 19th, 2018 has been ordered to stand trial at the next Practical Sitting of the Criminal Assizes before a Judge and jury.
The order was given on Thursday November 22nd by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne at the conclusion of a Preliminary Inquiry at the Serious Offences Court to determine if the Prosecution had adduced enough evidence in the matter.
Reports are that on the date in question DaSilva armed himself with a firearm and approached Phillip Alexander who was seated in his vehicle at Lodge Village public road and proceeded to rob him of EC$2,000.00.
The court heard that he also proceeded to struck him in his chest with a piece of steel wrapped in black plastic bag then fled the scene.
