The Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit is saddened by the passing of the late Maxwell Haywood. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Sherrill- Ann Haywood, their children and family.
Maxwell was a true Vincentian patriot who sought to promote everything “vincy” through his involvement in Diaspora organizations in New York, USA. Maxwell was a founding member of the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Diaspora Committee of New York, Inc. and championed the cause for Diaspora engagement and development.
Maxwell was very influential and instrumental in ensuring that the Diaspora participated in Vincy Homecoming 2009 and was a source of guidance in the recently launched St.Vincent and the Grenadines Diaspora Mapping project in New York in 2016.
He was also supportive of the creation of the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Diaspora Policy. Maxwell will be remembered for his readiness and willingness to offer suggestions and advice to the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit.
The Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit will seek to improve and maintain a positive relationship with the Diaspora and continue to build on the foundation created by Maxwell through his hard work and dedication to the Vincentian people. We extend our love and support to all who are mourning the loss of a true Vincentian champion.
Mr. Maxwell Haywood, a true Diaspora legend, May Your Soul rest in perfect peace.
