Calvert John a 34 year old resident from the community of London in Sandy Bay is now before the Court on an indictable charge of robbery which is said to have occurred on December 1st 2018.
He is accused of depriving 84 years old Elford Osment of Sandy Bay who now resides in Canada of a quantity of items which includes a wallet which contained over EC$1,000.00, a Galaxy Samsung cellular phone along with several ATM cards among other things.
The incident is said to have stemmed from a fracas between Osment and John on the date in question when John attacked Osment and pushed him to the ground and took away his wallet and his phone.
John having appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday December 4th was not allowed to enter a plea.
There was no objection to bail by Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche which was allowed in the sum of $6,000.00 with one surety.
He is to report to the Sandy Bay Police Station on Fridays between 6am and 6pm. The Preliminary Inquiry has been listed for March 6th, 2019.
