Hairouna Film Festival proudly announces the addition of two new professionals to the organization’s team. Shane Slater and Tim-Ron Williams join HFF to contribute their expertise in the roles of Programming Director and Creative Marketing Director respectively.
HFF welcomes Shane Slater to the team as the Director of Programming. He is responsible for developing innovative curating ideas for current and future programs and events, and also managing the annual process of programming official selections for Hairouna Film Festival. Shane brings over 10 years of experience as film journalist to the team. He is an active member of the African-American Film Critics Association and is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic.

Shane is a film aficionado through and through. Following his passion for film, he created the blog Film Actually in December 2009. He describes himself as “a lifelong devotee to the power of cinema,” and has an interest in independent, non-English and documentary filmmaking. In his role as Programming Director for Hairouna Film Festival, Shane hopes to champion the unique voices of Vincentian and Caribbean filmmakers.
Tim-Ron Williams, Creative Marketing Director
As HFF’s Creative Marketing Director, Tim-Ron Williams is responsible for developing marketing strategies in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan, and managing the organization’s overall brand. He also oversees the festival’s artist and other creative collaborators to develop the visual theme for the annual flagship event, Hairouna Film Festival. Prior to joining HFF, Tim-Ron was a part of the marketing teams at Clear Harbor SVG and KP Holdings.

Tim-Ron’s belief in the power of storytelling is demonstrated through his strong passion for the arts, entertainment and entrepreneurship. As a multi-passionate creative and business enthusiast, Tim-ron founded the creative agency, MARKiT Gorilla, in 2020.
