(NEWS784.COM) – A man was shot on Saturday night (22nd September 2018) in the Central Kingstown community of Sharpes.
The individual was shot near a shop just above the playing field.
According to a reliable source, the victim was at the shop playing dominoes when a masked gunman approached him from behind.
We were further told that the masked man pulled out a gun and squeezed the trigger several times, however, the gun didn’t fire.
The source further told News784, that Persons began to flee including the victim who was chased, and finally shot.
The gunman it is said walked away from the area following the incident.
Police have been trying for some time now to have shops in what is considered hot spots close early to lessen gun-related crimes.
News784 understands that the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening. Police are continuing investigations into the shooting.
