(By Javin Jacobs) – St Vincent and the Grenadines will receive additional financing for infrastructural projects.
This announcement was made by PM Gonsalves at a press conference on Tuesday 20th August, 2019.
Gonsalves said the country would receive a significant sum of money, however, the amount he would not reveal at this time.
The money he said would be for a large project to come on stream soon.
He said Taiwan has been a very good partner in St Vincent’s development and both countries would continue to deepen the relationship.
Gonsalves led a delegation to Taiwan recently where SVG opened an embassy after more than three decades of diplomatic relations.
Gonsalves also told the media that there will be additional monies for farmers support.
He said this is important to the agriculture sector and food security.
Gonsalves speaking about overseas missions said that the government would be developing a cadre of diplomatic personnel in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so as to aide in the missions abroad.
