Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting deaths of Slyvanus Nanton, 41 years old Labourer of Diamond and Nyanga Sam, 32 years old Shopkeeper of Pauls Avenue which occurred on 16.8.19.
According to investigations, about 5:45 a.m. on 16.08.19 Nanton was discovered unresponsive with gunshot wounds about his body in Motor Vehicle PK 927 at Diamond in the vicinity of Yankee’s Supermarket. A male suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Later the said day about 7:45 p.m. at Pauls Avenue, Sam who was reportedly at the Liquor and Provision shop in the company of some other persons was approached by an unknown person, who shot him and fled the scene. Sam was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner.
The police are soliciting information from the general public that will aid with the arrest and prosecution of the offender(s). The death of Nanton and Sam marks the 9th and 10th homicide recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for 2019.
Post Mortems will be conducted on the bodies to ascertain the cause of death.
