On 12th December, Youth Sailors from St Vincent and Bequia competed against each other in a Christmas Unregatta held at Blue Lagoon Hotel and Marina. Four clubs from Bequia attended and one group from St Vincent.
In the morning heats were held to place the 24 Open Bic sailors in fleets – Gold, Silver, Bronze and Blue. In addition to the Bic heat 9 children also competed in Topaz boats.
After lunch, which was kindly donated by KFC, Tuste and ECGC, the finals were held. The overall winner of the competition in the Gold fleet was Zach Mclawrence followed by team mate Kai Marks-Dasent in second place, both from St Vincent.
In the Silver fleet Isiah John from Bequia Youth Sailors took the top spot with Amari Hercules from Junior Sailing Academy Bequia in second place.
In the Bronze fleet, Royal Boatswain from Junior Sailing Academy Bequia came first and Joseph Hadley from St Vincent in second position. In the Blue fleet, Orion Olliverre from Bequia Veterans Sailing Sports and Culture Club came first and Jordan Hazell from Bequia Traditional Sailing Association came second.
Scarlett Hadley from St Vincent placed as the overall first girl.
In the Topaz class, Matthew Clarke and Rohana Warren placed first.
