- Concacaf U20 Qualifiers Sojourn
The National U-20 Men’s Team returned to the island after participating in three (3) competitive matches in Group D of the Concacaf U-20 Qualifiers, against Canada, Dominica and host nation Trinidad and Tobago.
Kicking off their first game, on Friday 23rd February 2024 against Trinidad and Tobago at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port-au-Spain. The viewing audience had the opportunity to witness an action-packed and intense game, with both teams making numerous attempts on goal. Despite the commendable performance, team Vincy had to settle for a (3-2) loss. Goals were registered by captain Kirtney Franklyn through a penalty in the 3rd and Steven Pierre in the 28th.
Sunday 25th February 2024, Vincy Heat second game of the group against Canada, was one anticipated by many after the Reds’ first match was an 8-0 victory over Dominica. Nevertheless, Vincy Heat, enter the field displaying resilience and teamwork conceding a (4-0) loss at the end of play.
Match day three, held on Tuesday 27th February 2024, against Dominica was one of anticipation as the teams’ two previous defeats, both were eager and ready to secure three points in the group. At the end of the 90th. Vincy Heat secured a resounding (3- 2) victory with goals from Frankroy Cain in the 10th, Kirtney Franklyn in the 44th and Steven Pierre in the 90th +2’, ultimately securing the third position in Group D.
