(BY JAVIN JACOBS) – Former Prime Minister and Leader of the NDP Sir James Mitchell says he does not think his beloved party Is doing itself any good by claiming that all previous elections were stolen.
The NDP had taken the Ralph Gonsalves government to the court stating that there were evidence showing the elections were stolen.
Following a long court battle, the matter was dismissed by the court, the NDP has challenged that decision.
Mitchell says this continued theme by the NDP might demoralize people in the next election.
” People will say I’m not bothering to vote man, they done thief it already”
Sir James said this is a Dangerous road and one which the NDP should exit.
” You must be able to convince the people that democracy works and you need to train your own people”
He says it is not a question of somebody or some candidate wanting to dictate etc, but every District he said should have properly trained people, and above all your candidates must be there at the final count.
