Throwing missiles: charge against Annamay Lewis withdrawn

The charge against Annamay Lewis, the Layou resident accused of injuring St. Vincent Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves during a protest in Kingstown on August 5, 2021, was withdrawn on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

The St. Vincent Times understands that the prosecution withdrew the charge of ‘ throwing missiles’. The matter had several adjournments.

The lawyer representing Annamay Lewis told News 784 in September 2021 that the prosecution case was weak.

Annamay Lewis was accused of injuring and wounding Gonsalves. The prosecution dropped the wounding case against Lewis on September 15, 2021.
