Police responded to the terrible site in Massara Village, North Rupununi, where three girls perished on Tuesday and performed an initial investigation.
During the investigation, it was discovered that three girls, six-year-old Nia Jeffreys, five-year-old Michele Jeffreys, and nine-year-old Alicia Dorrick, left their parents’ home and went swimming at the village’s Razor Grass pond.
When their parents noticed their absence, they launched a search that eventually led them to the Razor Grass Pond, where the bodies of the three girls were discovered floating in the water.
Villagers responded quickly to the alarm and helped retrieve the dead.
Toshao Lenny Moses was soon alerted, and a report was filed with the Annai Police Station.
The bodies of the three toddlers were transported to the Lethem Regional Hospital.
