On Friday, Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil denounced the increase in threats and violations of the United Nations Charter by the United States and its allies.
During a meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter in New York, the Bolivarian diplomat illustrated his claims by pointing to the rise in the imposition of unilateral restrictive measures, the Zionist genocide taking place in Gaza and the West Bank, and the recent Israeli military attacks on Lebanon.
“The United Nations has been unable to stop these crimes,” Gil pointed out, denouncing that the U.S. and its allies are supplying the weapons with which Israel carries out mass massacres in Palestine and Lebanon.
The countries aligned with the United States have created a framework of impunity that encourages the Israeli war machine, which continues to kill because it assumes its leaders will not be held accountable before humanity, the Venezuelan diplomat stressed, while expressing his country’s support for the legitimate desire of the Palestinian people to have their own state.
Gil also reminded that Washington is carrying out a “continuous coup” against Venezuela, a country suffering a multifaceted aggression due to the consequences of over 900 sanctions, the confiscation of millions in funds abroad, and other destabilizing actions such as assassination attempts and invasions.
“With Venezuela, they have not and will not succeed. The Venezuelan people will defend their national independence,” assured the Bolivarian diplomat, who expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the members of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter.
Gil emphasized the need to build a new international order based on peace, development, and equity.

Chancellor Yvan Gil: Is Necessary “Address the Root Causes of Conflicts” in Order to a Peaceful World
Venezuela’s foreign minister, Yvan Gil, urged the United Nations (UN) Security Council to effectively address the root causes of conflict in order to move towards a more peaceful world.
“In order to move towards a more peaceful, just and less unequal world, it is necessary among other things to effectively address the root causes of conflicts,” he said.
Similarly, the Venezuelan government representative also said that multilateralism and the United Nations (UN) are being put to the test, as they are currently under attack.
“Multilateralism is indeed changing but not in the right direction, and far from being able to offer guarantees to all members of the international community, in the area of peace and security, which has direct implications for sustainable development”, he said.
In this regard, he stressed that without sustainable development reaching the vast majority of people on the planet, there will be no sustainable peace in the world.
“Maintaining international peace and security is the primary task of the Security Council, but this task must be carried out on the basis of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations,” he stressed.

The Global South to Drive International Energy Markets: Venezuelan VP Rodriguez
On Thursday, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez participated in the 7th International Russian Energy Week Forum, which will be held in Moscow until September 28.
During her speech, she analyzed current trends in international energy markets and highlighted that 26 percent of the world’s oil production is subject to the arbitrary sanctions imposed by the United States and its allies.
“Sanctions constitute economic aggressions and cause disruptions in the energy market. Unilateral Coercive Measures (UCMs) aim to coerce and extort nations to impose a worldview created by Western hegemonic centers,” said Rodriguez, who is also the Venezuelan Oil Minister.
“The Bolivarian nation cannot be excluded from the international energy market because it holds the largest oil reserves on the planet, currently accounting for 19 percent of the global total,” she recalled, and denounced that the Pentagon considers sanctioned countries as “geostrategic targets.”
In response to the U.S. hegemonic ambitions, countries in the Global South are looking to the BRICS as a preferred option, as this cooperation bloc will play a decisive role in global economic growth over the next 25 years. “Countries are seeking networks that allow for a different kind of interconnection than the one the West seeks to impose,” Rodriguez said.

Venezuela’s President Highlights the Inutility of the UN to Confront Fascism
Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the uselessness of the United Nations (UN) to confront fascism and the international body’s legal inability to stop the crimes of Israel and Ukraine against innocent peoples.
During an exclusive interview given to the multi-platform information teleSUR, the president said that the main debate that has marked the 79th session of the UN has been the fascism of Benjamin Netanyahu and Vladimir Zelensky.
It also addressed the crimes being committed against nations such as Palestine and the Arab people of Lebanon; the threats against Russia, and even Venezuela, which indicates that «we are at a key moment» in history.
«Either the UN gets its batteries up, or it will remain an unusable entity, with the Zionist-affiliated elites as responsible», he asserted.
The head of state recalled that a hundred years ago there was the League of Nations, an experience of a multilateral system based on international law, which murdered fascism, nazism and francoism with the complicity of the entire colonialist West of the time.
The Venezuelan president also pointed out that there have been two major issues in UN debates: the rejection of Benjamin Netanyahu’s Zionism, the fascism of Maria Corina Machado, Javier Milei, and crimes against the people of Gaza and Lebanon, on the one hand, and support for Venezuela on the other.
«In Venezuela we have stopped fascism in all its expressions and it is an example of how fascism is fought in peace and with the support of the people», he stressed.

Foreign Minister Gil: U.S. plans terrorist acts against sovereign nations
The Chancellor of the Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, denounced that the United States (US) is planning terrorist acts against sovereign peoples like Venezuela in order to overthrow the Bolivarian Government.
During his speech at the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) taking place in New York City, United States, the Chancellor specifically pointed out that terrorist attacks against public officials and public facilities are planned from the state of Florida. They also use social networks, with impunity and full support from the White House, to promote mercenary incursions, as already happened in May 2020.
“From the territory of the United States of America, for example, attacks, assassination attempts, destabilizations and aggressions against sovereign peoples, such as Venezuela, are planned. For this purpose, they have resorted to the use of information and communications technologies, especially social networks, controlled by the empire’s front men, who fabricate psychological wars aimed at exploiting feelings of hatred and destruction, without any kind of control”, he detailed.
