You may know him as a part of singing group The Melisizwe Brothers but Zacary James, whose melodic voice is often compared to the late King of Pop, is lending his voice to Netflix’s Motown-themed animated series Motown Magic, which is set to make its debut on the streaming service on October 20th.
James, whose family hails from St. Vincent and the Grenadines perfoms the Jackson Five hit “ABC” which is the theme song for the series.
Ben, described by Netflix as “a wide-eyed 8-year-old with a big heart and an amazing imagination,” uses a magic paintbrush to bring the street art in Motown to life. The series will feature 52 newly-recorded versions of songs made famous by iconic artists such as Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson 5, Lionel Richie, the Supremes and the Temptations.
The series will be executive produced by creator Josh Wakely, with Smokey Robinson serving as executive music producer.
