Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen has agreed to accept an initial 15 Vincentians to receive training in vocational studies in Taiwan.
This has come about following recent discussions between Finance minister Camilo Gonsalves and the President during his recent trip there.
The Fifteen young persons will pursue short-term courses in vocational education and training.
Gonsalves said this is part of the government thrust towards providing opportunities for Vincentian youths to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies empowering them to seize employment, and for self-employment.
St Vincent and Taiwan established diplomatic relations in 1981.
