Hot97’s Too Cool Chris (Christopher Jones) was on December 10 found not guilty of wounding Kevin Patterson.

On July 23, 2024, police arrested and charged Jones with the offence of Wounding.

According to investigations then, Jones was accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding the 32-year-old Fisherman of Largo Height, by shooting him in his hip, left hand and right leg with a gun.

The offence was committed on July 4, 2024, at Bay Street, Kingstown. Jones appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on July 24, 2024, where he pleaded not guilty.

The conditions of his station bail were set out, and the matter was adjourned to September 6, 2024, for review.

In May of 2025, Police Constable 927 Ozias Patrick, attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), told the Court on that Commissioner of Police (CoP) Enville Williams instructed him to arrest popular radio personality and DJ Christopher ‘Too Cool’ Jones for wounding, before the investigations were complete.

On Monday 19 July 2025, a bench warrant was issued for Jones.

Jones’s attorney, Grant Connell, told St Vincent Times at that time that his client showed up in court the following day and gave reasons why he was unable to attend the proceedings.

Jones’ case was widely seen by many as harassment by the powers that be.
