The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has officially recognized the decades of dedicated service provided by retired public officers during a celebratory retirement cocktail held at Sandals Resort.
The event, which took place as part of the ongoing Public Service Week activities, was hosted by the Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU). The ceremony specifically honored public officers who transitioned into retirement or are scheduled to do so between the period of July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
During the ceremony, Chief Personnel Officer Arlene Redisford-Sam delivered a keynote address praising the retirees for their commitment and hard work. She noted that these individuals can depart the Public Service with a “sense of satisfaction,” having built a lasting legacy through their contributions to the nation and its citizens.
“It is important to recognise not only our current public servants but also to honour our esteemed retirees for their dedication, hard work and enormous contributions to their respective ministries and departments,” Redisford-Sam stated. She further emphasized that this ceremony serves as a clear demonstration of the Government’s commitment to valuing the work of public servants at every stage of their careers.
The Chief Personnel Officer also took the opportunity to highlight the Personnel Department’s ongoing role in managing human resources for the Government. She explained that the department continues to implement policies and programmes designed to support the professional development and well-being of all public officers.
In her closing remarks, Redisford-Sam congratulated the honorees on reaching this significant milestone and encouraged them to reflect with pride on the positive impact they have made over their many years of service to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
