A Carlsen Field man was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted by two men after boarding a PH taxi in Chase Village, Chaguanas, on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old victim reportedly stopped a Nissan Tiida, believed to be a PH taxi at around 10 pm on the Chase Village Flyover, requesting to be taken to a specific address in Carlsen Field.
There were two men in the car at the time—the driver and a passenger in the back seat.
As the vehicle approached a particular street in Carlsen Field, the driver stopped the car at the side of the road and got out.
Shortly after, the victim was apparently grabbed by the male passenger in the back seat, who then held a substance to his nostrils, rendering him unconscious.
The victim regained consciousness later and found himself on the side of the road, experiencing pain and discomfort, indicating that he had been sexually assaulted.
Additionally, his Samsung S22 Ultra cell phone and bag, which contained his national identification card, driver’s permit, and approximately $1,000, were stolen.
The victim reported the incident to the Freeport Police Station on Wednesday.
PC Boodoo and PC Thurton then took the victim to the Couva District Hospital, where he was examined by a doctor.
The suspects have been described as, the driver a man of African-descent, slim-built, bald-headed, wearing blue short pants and a white vest.
The passenger has been described as a muscular man of African-descent with a short beard, brown complexion, clad in blue three quarter pants, a purple hat, and a white shirt.
Investigations are continuing.
