Windies Masters made light work of Canada Masters Cricket Club when they got their Fete Division Group A campaign going at the Sion Hill Playing Field. Canada Masters Cricket Club mustered 83 for 8 off a reduced 16 overs with Neveed Sehrai leading the batting with 27 while Srinivasan Kasavan added 20. Rudy Gibson proved a handful with the ball returning the impressive figures of 5 for 8 from his 4 overs for Windies Masters. The top three Windies Masters batsmen then combined forces to get to 85 for 1 in 13 overs with Chris Vernon left 28 not out while Shem Stay added 26.
Also in Group A of the Fete Division, AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Veterans had an impressive seven wickets victory over Trinbago Leather Backs at the Cumberland Playing Field. Trinbago Leather Backs scored 127 for 6 in 20 overs behind a 34 ball 42 from Micah Joseph. Sean Hunte’s 2 for 22 were the best figures from an AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Veterans bowler. AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Veterans then replied with 128 for 3 in 15.4 overs behind a 74 runs 2nd wicket partnership between Victor Best and Ryan Durrant. Best was left unbeaten after a 44 ball 64 while Durrant added 32. Micah Joseph’s 2 for 18 from 3.2 overs could not change the result in favor of AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Veterans.
`In the Fete Division Group B, AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters recorded a four wickets win over Sarasota International Cricket Club at the Cumberland Playing Field. Led by Shiva Harry who scored 26, Sarasota International Cricket Club got up to 106 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Anthony Morris 2 for 8, Allan Young 2 for 20 and Wesley Straker 2 for 20 got amongst the wickets for AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters who replied with 107 for 6 in 18.3 overs. Pedro Agard 32 not out, Andy Payne 24 and Owen Birch 23 secured the win for AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters.
Match two in the Fete Division Group B on the opening day went the way of Rungetters Sport Club by four wickets over the Prime Ministers Eleven at Stubbs. The Prime Ministers Eleven managed 116 for 5 in 20 over and were led by Ariston Laurence 55 and Lance John 29 not out. Vinn Maharaj took 2 for 12 and 2 Prakesh Nagessar 2 for 29 with the ball for Rungetters Sport Club, who replied with 118 for 6 in 15.5 overs. Dean Ali led their batting with 32. Shawn Rose picked up 3 for 16 off 3 overs for the Prime Ministers Eleven.
Moving to the Festival Division, Cricket Canada Masters Council had the better of Sarasota International Cricket Club 40+ by eight wickets in their match played at the Cumberland Playing Field. Sarasota International Cricket Club 40+ struggled up to 84 all out after 19.4 overs with Satrohan Austin scoring 23. Yantin Malik took 3 for 21 while Shailesh Patel 2 for 4, Nittin Gosean 2 for 7 and Muhammed Anwar 2 for 11 all restricted the Sarasota International Cricket Club 40+ batting. In reply, Cricket Canada Masters Council strolled up to 85 for 2 in 12.4 overs. Captain Vinay Devisetty led their batting with 32 not out while Harman Dosanjh scored 24 before retiring.
In the Festival Division at Sion Hill, North East Masters took down North Leeward Masters by 9 wickets. North Leeward Masters were dismissed for 54 in 12.3 overs of which Hayden Ferdinand scored 20. Shane Shillingford’s 4 for 7 from 3.3 overs and Rajiv Roberts’ 4 for 18 from 4 overs decimated the North Leeward Masters batting. North East Masters then needed just five overs to reach their target of 56 for the loss of one wicket. Renrick Williams hit 28 not out while Shane Shillingford was also not out on 13.
The Festival Division day one matches were completed with a five wickets victory for New York/Stubbs Masters over Mustique Company Masters at Park Hill. Mustique Company Masters totaled 104 all out in 17 overs with 18 not out from Dexter Small being the top score. Dean Williams 4 for 28 off 4 overs and Olando Mafford 3 for 8 from 2 overs bowled well for New York/Stubbs Masters who replied with 108 for 4 in 15.4 overs. Mark Audain and Slyvan Spencer saw New York/Stubbs Masters to their target with 54 and 29 not out respectively.
Day two in the 2025 SVG International Masters T20 Cricket Festival will feature nine matches. In the Fete Division Group A, AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados- Veterans take on Munro Road Masters from 10:00am at Stubbs, Canada Masters Cricket Club meet Trinbago Leatherbacks at Arnos Vale 2 from 10:00am while D & D Auto World square off against Windies Masters also at Arnos Vale 2 but from 2:00pm.
In the Fete Division Group B, V. J’s North Windward Masters do battle against AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters at Park Hill from 10:00am, Rungetters Sports Club and Sarasota International Cricket Club lock horns at Stubbs from 2:00pm while Woodland Masters and Prime Minister’s Eleven face off at Cumberland.
Day Two line-up is completed with three matches in the Festival Division. Clarke Road Veterans take on New York/Stubbs Masters at Sion Hill from 10:00am, RSVG Police Masters go up against Sarasota International Cricket Club 40+ at Stubbs from 2:00pm and also at 2:00pm, North East Masters play against Cricket Canada Masters Council at Park Hill.
