Tannis Travels As Chairman For CRN+ To Three Regional Meetings

Civil Society Representative & Community Activist Winfield Tannis-Abbott is travelling as Chair for the Caribbean Regional Network of People Living with HIV & AIDS (CRN+) from Sunday September 16 – 29, 2018 to Antigua & Barbuda (September 16 – 19), Barbados (September 19 – 25) and Jamaica (September 25 – 29) to facilitate capacity building and institutional strengthening where he will meet with National AIDS Programme Managers (NAPS), Ministry of Health Officials, Donor Agencies and People Living with HIV & AIDS (PLHIV) Networks.

Mr. Tannis-Abbott was recently elected as Chair of the organization at the Annual General Meeting held in July 2018, Trinidad & Tobago. He will serve as Chair for the next two years until 2020.

The purpose for these meetings are:

1.) Provide continuous technical support for capacity building and institutional strengthening with network representatives from all seven target countries: Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Haiti & Cuba – to build a stronger unified voice for people living with HIV & AIDS (PLHIV) advocates in the Caribbean (focused areas: Governance, Communication, Stigma & Discrimination Advocacy, Support Group Management/ Leadership and Improving Partnerships with National AIDS Programme Managers (NAPS).

2.) Support networks to conduct Advocacy activity with a focus on GIPA.

The Caribbean Regional Network for People Living with HIV & AIDS is a Sub sub Recipient under the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition (CVC),

 Global Fund Grant, Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP) / Robert Carr Network Fund (RCNF) and Pan Caribbean Against HIV & AIDS (PANCAP).
