Augustus Cato one of the newest members of the local constabulary came in for high commendation on Tuesday, November 28th.
The commendation came from Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche at the Serious Offences Court for the professional manner in which he presented his evidence during a Preliminary Inquiry on a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm by Akenie Hackshaw of Rose Hall on Nobesha Franklyn a fisherman and farmer of Petit Bordel.
Delpesche told Cato that he was pleased with his Court rightness and accuracy in his testimony.
His commendation was also concurred by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne who told the young constable that he must work hard at acquiring knowledge during which time he will reap the benefit.
On May 28th, 2017at Rose Hall during a fundraising event at Rose Hall, Hackshaw is said to have armed himself with a firearm and shot Franklyn on his left breast and back during an altercation between himself and the other persons who were at the court.
The Preliminary has been adjourned to Thursday, November 30th, 2017.
